This image was taken on the way back to camp in Chobe National Park, in Botswana (2019). Driving back to camp after watching the sunset we drove round a bend in the track when suddenly a sable antelope appeared. Its head was down and it charged at the side of the safari truck, seemingly with intend. This scared many people in our group, but at the last possible moment the sable stopped then did a quick 180 degree turn. It then became apparent what was happening, for as suddenly as the sable had appeared a pack of painted dogs were in hot pursuit. The drama unfolded before our eyes and we were caught in the middle. In all my years going on safari this was one of the most exciting moments and one that will stay with me forever.
